Standing over the counter, waiting for the order to be delivered, smell of fresh latte and oven-baked cookies. Coffee is another paradise and the journey is filled with cream and froth. We could not have made it without timely divine intervention. When asked for and about elixir, we got our answers back. The next thing followed after that is coffee and a culture that ever stays hungry.

Coffee is a brewed drink made from coffee beans. We all have witnessed amazing stories while a cup of coffee is being prepared and served, and history also stands equal to it. In Yemen, coffee was used in religious ceremonies. And it was also in Yemen and Ethiopia that the trade of coffee and its cultivation started.

Coffee beans are produced by several species of small evergreen bush of the genus coffea. Here is a list of things that are going to shape our discussion and the outcome too. Whenever we try to shop for a cup of coffee, there are significantly two prime categories available. Coffee arabica and Coffee canephora (Robusta) are two types that we need to focus on.

First things first and it is also known as ‘mountain coffee’ or ‘arabica coffee’. Coffee Arabica is the first species that was supposed to be cultivated almost 1,000 years ago. It makes a wonderful cup of coffee and contains less caffeine. Within first two to four years of life, Coffee Arabica produces small and highly fragrant white flowers. In ideal conditions, these trees can be planted all around the year and harvest period is also the same. In other conditions that are less favorable, there are particular seasons of plantation and harvesting.

Coffee canephora or Robusta Coffee makes up to one third of the total production of coffee produced in the world. And Vietnam is the largest exporter of it. The quantity of caffeine is almost the double than Arabica. It is easier to produce and is economical in nature. The presence of higher caffeine makes it an ideal candidate to fight against pests. This might surprise few of us as a common study states that 70% and 30% of Robusta and Arabica respectively is used to mark it as traditional coffee.

Apart from these two names, one can also find number of other categories and brands available in the market. These all can be taken as sub-categories. One good thing about a cup of coffee is that all of us share the same taste and aroma every day and hour of the week.

Coffee is our savior. Time moves, people mature and things simply change but coffee remains to hold its place strongly than ever. It was once said that ‘while drinking a cup of coffee, god visualized us and bestowed life on earth’.
