Coffee green beans are more recommendable because they stay longer than roasted beans. Green beans can stay fresh for a period of six months but the roasted type will only take seven days for it to go bad.  Green coffee beans are of high quality with a unique distinctive flavor. Roasted beans hold no quality and loose flavor faster than the green beans. This is because of the chemical process that it goes through even after cooling.

But if you want to acquire good quality coffee beans for home roasting or shop roasting, you must know the process involved to achieve a high quality results. Arabica coffees are most preferred as compared to Robusta. It is of high quality with a wide range of test if treated with much care. Robusta though can work out well, has high level of caffeine content. The Robusta type is mainly for commercial purposes. This explains why most coffee shops use Arabica beans.

It is hard to know if the coffee you are taking is 100% coffee once it is grounded. You can only prove this in a laboratory which is very rare for one to do. That is why coffee green beans are the best. Supermarket roasted coffees usually have cheap fillers that are of low quality. The best way to achieve the best result is to roast your own green coffee beans. There are many types of coffee rosters provided in the market, go for one you are sure of and save your money.

Coffee green beans should be roasted in such away that it does not loose its flavor. If you are in business take note that you don’t roast green coffee with bad smell. The equipment used must be simple and easy to manage. Remember your coffee must always be fresh to maintain the flavor.

The wet method (Washed green coffee) is more expensive than the dry method and can only be carried out in places with constant supply of water. During this process, fresh beans are picked, plunged into a tank of water and left to float. They are then removed taken to de-pulping machine that separates the fruit from the bean. The beans are then sorted by cylindrical machines called sieves. The beans are then separated out by size. They are then taken to stone tanks for fermentation. They take approximately 2 days to fully loosen the remaining pulp.

After pulp lessening process, they are washed and further sorting takes place. At the end they find their way up in a stone drainage tank. They are held here till all the water drains away.

Washed coffee beans are very clean and good for consumptions. It is the method most desired by many. The end results are trusted and provide the best quality ever. Dry method also works out better for some but only if proper care is taken during the process. The dry types are normally stored in silos or laid in ply wood covered by canvas.
